How can I stop my fabric from fraying?
I want to make a dress out of a tweed fabric - it is woven with very wide yarn (about 5mm wach strand) - I think it supposed to be coat fabric - it is that sort of weight. It frays quite badly and I was wondering if there were any tips to stop it fraying too much. I was going to just stitch lines over and over around the cut fabric in the seam allowance.
I don't think overlocking would help.
Any advice? Thanks!
I do a rather dangerous thing and that is take a match to the edges! You obviously have to be careful, but it does work!
