I would like to be a fashion designer, do not have any money to buy supplies with?
I would really like to be a fashion designer... I've been one all my life. I don't have money for things like copic markers to sketch, I don't have money to buy a new or used sewing machine, or a dress form, or fabric, or patterns. I'm basically broke. My grades aren't that good so I can't get that great scholarships. Do you guys have any suggestions?
I'll try my best to help you out.
1. WORK HARD IN SCHOOL! Maybe put off your designing for a month and devote it all to studying. By understanding the material (not just BSing homework), grades go up! Good grades get you into a good school!
2. Have a garage sale~ Get rid of all the stuff you don't need anymore to rake in a couple extra bucks.
3. Ask around. Ask family, friends, teachers to see if they have connections! They could give you that jump start you need for interning!
4. Prismacolor markers. MUCH cheaper than Copics ( although I personally looove copics more) But most American designers have no idea what Copics are. They use Prismacolor.
