She is my beautiful naked mermaid
Basking on her lily pad
The sun
Stroking her
Porcelain skin,
Unable to thaw
The ocean forever
Strangling her
Like a blue
Satin scarf.
She lives alone
With aspirations only
To waltz on the rainforest floor,
To feel pulse of Conga drums
To kick up the dirt
And then let the ocean tide
Lick her sandy feet clean.
To never escape
The tropical colors
Even when she closes
Her eyes.
And to make love
For the very first time
Under the tree canopy
The stars peeking through
Like curious eyes
Watching a flower blossom.
I love the descriptive imagery woven into metaphor, but the line breaks were disjointing.
