Padded Felt Bow
another poem..any good/advice/opinions?
I write for fun and just to see where my mind goes.
As i drove down a country road
Along a cliff side
Window open just enjoying the ride
I seen two birds glide out to sea
O what a sight to see
Even the coldest person would have to agree
And to think this was was free
I pulled in
Heard the waves crash and bash many feet below
Felt the wind blow
As a small cloud stopped the sun glow
God for this masterpiece
You should take a bow
My phone rings
Its over is what it says
Cancer won
If im looking at this beauty
Cant imagine what heaven is like
Dad maybe you'll show me in a dream tonight
Your suffering is over and i am glad
But iv never been so sad
My emotions crumble
Tears fall and i cant do nothing at all
Not even answer my family's calls
Three years later i still cant drive down that country road
Not to mind talk about you
So i hope you read my A4 pad
As i hope to give it to you someday
Yes, this works.
Well constructed narrative. Not sure about "sea" as a rhyme for "see" (can you justify the homonym?)
The shift of rhyme to "bow" works well, just before the tone of the poem changes.
