blackened edges
raveled lace
disheveled
bedsheets
sad look on her face
crumpled tissues
strewn
on the ground
smoke
from her
cigarette
spired up in a cloud
intricate lines
on parchment like
skin
softened
by white curls
surrounding
her face
the dust
from the lane
a car passing
by
gritty
it lands
some blows
in her eyes
there
on her porch
on a swing
made for two
she sits alone
knocks back
a few
the sun
slunk away
the dusk
permeates
stormclouds hover
on air thick
as mud
screen door
squawks
on rusty hinges
as she goes in
she feels the
twinges
they found her
much later
in quiet
repose
one hand to her chest
clutching a rose
no longer
her breath
would feed her soul
her heart
stopped
cold
very nice. did she die of lung cancer?
