cloths washer with a busted "door closed" switch, can i vi-pass it and splice the wires directly together?
i have a whirlpool top loading washing machine with a switch that is pushed down by a pin on the washer lid so it only runs when closed.
the switch is faulty/shorting, can i jus cut the wires in and out of the switch and twist them together with one of those electrical nut/cap thingies that look like traffic cones?
i know a replacement switch is not to much but i just want the whole bloody mess out of my washer.
can anyone tell me how?
I'm of the belief that if you are stupid enough to stick your hand in a spinning washing machine, nature should be allowed to take it.s course.

and this switch is mounted under the lip of the washer right above the drum on the right side.
very easy to reach just unscrew the two screws above the pin hole and it drops right into the washer drum.
sure you can do that.
just wont shut off when you open it.
no big deal.
just pull the switch out, cut of the wires close to the switch.
strip the insulation off the ends of the wires about 1/2 inch
and then twist them together.
the screw on the "wire nut " that is what they are called.
